Soldier still in retreat mode

Shivam's condition worsened over the last 24 hours. His belly pain has increased and his fever is now almost constant at 103. Tylenol brings it down for an hour and it goes up again after that.

This was quite concerning for the doctors and Shivam was taken into surgery (he is currently there). He was given another round of platelets around 2 AM in the morning for this surgery. This surgery is to remove a sample of the fluid from the belly and test it to find out what it is.

The nerve wracking wait begins...

My goodness, I'm so sorry to hear this news. I will pray for Shivam to hold on tight to life as his body struggles to beat these various illnesses and infections. I will pray for the doctors and nurses to discover the cause of his suffering and for them to find a good solution. I know how hard it is to see your child so sick and in so much pain. Hugs and prayers, Mette and Baby Zoe

Pain is very personal. No one else can really understand it. My heart goes out to you shivam, urmila and nikhil. Be strong, like all good times do not last so as well the bad times will not last. Be positive and be strong which you guys are. My prayers are with shivam always.

Hi Urmila,
I read these posts every day and am amazed by your strength and the strength of Nikhil. With every twist and turn of Shivam's condition you seem to have such grace and strength. I am rooting for all of you. You are in my thoughts morning, noon, and night, and I'm hoping for the very best for Shivam.

Today, I gave blood in Shivam's honor. I've never given blood before but I was happy to do it knowing that he, or someone like him, might receive the blood they need.

I'll keep reading these posts and thinking of you all!
