(Updated) Still at ICU

4:30 pm update: The labs just called and told us that Shivam's nasal culture taken on 4/4/08 (6 days ago) just developed influenza A virus. Talk about being in high spirits...Poor kid has no immune system and is now attacked by flu? As if someone doesn't want us to have a moment of smile. We are in enough tears already. Stop this barrage of infections and viruses and bacterias and fungus.
----------------------------

Shivam's condition has not changed since the last update. He is still very sick, whole body very swollen, watery eyes and in pain.

But our spirits are not down. We will fight through this.

Urmila and Nikhil-

Shivam is battling this out with remarkable tenacity and I pray that you are able to stay strong with him through this ordeal.

I pray that you have the power to overcome misfortune, fear and injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow.

I pray that you have the courage to accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.

Hi Nikhil and Urmila,
We are finding it hard to even imagine what you are going through. You all are in our thoughts and prayers all the time and we have faith that everything will be back to normal in due course of time.
If there’s ANY WAY we can be useful in this battle you and Shivam are fighting, do let us know.
